FAQ
Residential lock rekeying questions
Will rekeying replace the entire lock?
Usually, rekeying changes the internal key configuration of a compatible lock. Damaged or unsuitable hardware may need replacement. A correctly rekeyed cylinder should no longer accept its former key; this applies only to the locks included in the service.
Can several locks use one key?
Some compatible locks can be keyed alike. Similar-looking locks are not automatically compatible. Bring working keys and tell us which doors you would like to match; different keyways may require different hardware.
What information affects the quote?
The number and type of cylinders, their condition, existing keys, access restrictions and your location affect the scope. Mention missing keys or inaccessible doors and confirm rental-property authorization when applicable. Describe your doors when you call so we can discuss the work before proceeding.
